About Thought Refuge

Living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) has given me the desire to bring awareness to this hidden, sometimes debilitating, vastly undiagnosed and misunderstood illness.

Here, I offer my personal stories, a better understanding of this illness, and a place for others to learn more about ME/CFS.

As my fellow ME/CFS sufferers know, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is so grossly misunderstood by most people, especially the medical community. Most Medical Schools in the U.S. still does not have ME/CFS as part of their education, according to the CDC’s website.

The Thought Refuge is here as a platform to advocate for myself and others living with this invisible illness.

Together we can make enough noise to bring about changes in diagnosis and support.

I believe it is important to do everything I can to be well, and to also make room for my reality: that I do not live “normally.”
